Rockefeller Center’s campus-wide reimagining stretches from the Rink Level to Top of the Rock — and then some. While it already delivers the only unobstructed 360-degree view of NYC, Top of the Rock is elevating the adventure with a series of new attractions that chronicle Rockefeller Center’s 90-year history of artistry and innovation.
Blending its past, present, and future with culture-rich, tech-forward experiences, Top of the Rock promises an immersive experience from the bottom to the top — one you won’t find anywhere else.
Read on to discover what’s new at Top of the Rock and what’s in store for 2024.
The Beam
If you thought the sights at Top of the Rock couldn’t get any better, The Beam raises the bar. The exhilarating new experience, which opened in December, climbs 12 feet above Top of the Rock, rotating to give visitors unbeatable sights of Central Park and beyond. The Beam recreates “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper” — the famous 1932 photo of 11 ironworkers eating lunch 850 feet in the air during the construction of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Tickets for The Beam can be added to General Admission and Express Pass tickets while the experience is included in the VIP Pass.
The Weather Room
Taking its name from the Doppler radar that once informed weather reports from the 70th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, The Weather Room gives “elevated dining” a new meaning. Nestled on the 67th floor, the rooftop café marries Top of the Rock’s signature, breathtaking views with locally sourced eats like artisanal sandwiches, flavor-rich pastries, and classic New York bagels. The Weather Room is open daily from 9am to midnight; tickets to Top of the Rock are required for entry.
Top of the Rock Gift Shop
The Top of the Rock Gift Shop's recently redesigned space comes with new merch, too. Located on the Rink Level of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, its latest collection features classic dad hats, retro made-in-America sweatshirts, Roxy the Owl plush ornaments, and an exclusive Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree-scented candle from APOTHEKE.
Skylift
Opening Fall 2024
In the Skylift, guests will soar 30 feet above Top of the Rock’s uppermost level — and the bustling streets below. Sign up for the Center Newsletter to be sure you’re one of the first to experience Skylift.
Elevator Experience, Mezzanine Level, and Theater Show
Opening mid-2024
Top of the Rock’s new cinematic journey will take flight in the elevators and continue until the very top. On the Mezzanine Level, guests will be greeted by stunning murals, projection-mapped models, interactive exhibits, and an experiential theater show. Combining cutting-edge technologies and sensory storytelling, the voyage through time offers a comprehensive exploration of Rockefeller Center’s cultural impact and legacy.
Top of the Rock is open daily from 9am to midnight. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the box office, located on 50th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
